Robert Bluffield is an author/photographer who started his professional studio in 1976 and quickly gained acclaim as a leading exponent in wedding and portrait photography during that era. The studio developed into a busy commercial and social practice and gained lucrative international schools and commercial contracts in Hong Kong and visited the former Crown Colony regularly over a period of nine years. The studio now specialises in classical and modern portraiture, food, interiors. transport and other commercial genres and regularly works locally directly with clients and local business and lifestyle magazines, often combining feature writing with photography.

For clients who prefer film, Robert Bluffield Photography retains a wide array of 35mm and medium format film cameras up to 6x7cm but the majority of work is now undertaken using digital equipment.

The studio is on a first floor of a commercial premsies in a high street location but it is essential to make appointments to arrange a visit.

It has always been the studio's philosophy to put the client's needs first.

I don't enter awards and prefer my professional work to speak for itself. I have produced a commercial CD Rom on Hong Kong and have now written four books, three of them commissioned. Two of these have been on wedding photography; one on photographic business management and laterly, my recently published history of the British Airline Industry between the wars. I have had numerous photographic technique articles published in the consumer photographic magazine at home and in the USA.

I was a Licentiate of the BIPP and the MPA; a Craftsman of the Guild of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and a Craftsman of the SWPP but I have since renounced my membership of these organisations. Hence my grades below are no lonber considered by these associations.
