Commercial and Studio photography
My client list includes many national and international companies for whom I have produced the highest standard of studio still life, fashion and architectural photography.
Wedding Photography
My intention is to use my documentary skills and my commercial knowhow to produce photography which has the power to evoke the atmosphere and the emotions of the day.
Landscapes and travel
I use a panoramic camera and modern digital methods to produce a large range of travel and landscape photographs which are available to buy as prints or to use for advertising and publicity.
Events and Editorial
I cover all types of events for editorial, publicity and participant/spectator souvenir and memento purchases.
The late, great George Melly was performing at a jazz festival where I was photographing for the regional Tourist Board
The Guilty Quilter
Mr Crisp, an "Uglies" model sat for this shot in a London Studio.
Projector Lenses.
Contrary to popular belief, our fascination with slide shows and projected images goes on unabated albeit in the digital domain. These were shot for a projector lens importer.
A veneer laminator
Bob was a genuine veneering engineer who posed for this logo shot for a kitchen design manufacturer.
Travel and Documentary
A Transylvanian Gypsy girl caught before the rest of her family harassed me mercilessly for money. this shot won a place in the John Kobal Awards exhibition in the Zelda Cheatle galleries in London.
About the Photographer
I have been privileged in a career as a professional photographer all my working life.
After leaving college I worked in commercial photography in Hampshire.
I cut my teeth on hovercraft, fire engines and ocean liners with a large chunk of still life advertising and fashion thrown in.
Running the studio of an advertising agency gave me the experience I craved in all forms of studio and location work with a large measure of tourism and documentary work.
Working for London and Provincial advertising agencies demanded exacting and rigorous results as well as precise deadlines - the right sort of experience to ultimately lecture in photography at one of the best photographic colleges in the country.
After a spell of lecturing photography at university level while continuing to work on tourism and travel assignments
I decided to relax and add to my experience with the gentler art of social photography.
I've always photographed weddings and portraits for friends, and recently I've decided to add this as a service to my commercial work.
It's turned out to be an immensely rewarding aspect of my work.
I take real pride and pleasure in photographing people.
Capturing some of my clients' most intimate moments could be disastrous on a December day at four o'clock in the afternoon when it's raining, however, my background in all aspects of photography allows me to photograph in all sorts of conditions and for me it just remains fun and a challenge to produce a result which will look great regardless of the circumstances.
