I have been doing photography for a few years now but I have taken it more seriously over the past four years. I enjoy all subjects within photography but my main two passions are portraiture and creative photography. I also enjoy doing self portraits, it is great fun dressing up and not being myself, it also helps me to concentrate more on getting an image within the frame.

I joined the Kings Lynn Camera Club in September 2008, I enter in most of the in house competitions which I enjoy taking part. In April 2009 I was elected as the first female Vice Chairman which I was pleased to except in April 2010 I was elected the first female Chairman which I was truly overwhelmed with, I decided April 2011 to stand down as Chairman so I could concentrate more on my own photography and move forward as a business.

After 16 years in Sydney, Alan Bennett recently relocated to Norwich to enjoy the beauty of East Anglia. He has been actively involved within photography and television for over 15 years. In Sydney Alan worked for SBS TV in their studios and on location before going freelance in 2006, where he did location sound recording for the Australian and American ABC networks. Alan began exhibiting his photography back in 1995 and won various awards through the Australian photography industry bodies: the A.I.P.P. and A.C.M.P. In 1997, he was awarded the 'Nikon/Panorama Showcase Photographer of the Year' for his portfolio of ten images. The judges included the late David Moore. In 2006 he received two nominations in the international Black and White Spider Awards for fine art and sport. Alan has recently become a qualified member in the wedding category of The Guild of Photographers after submitting a portfolio of work to the Guild's judging panel. In 2008 Alan took part in a weeks long photo workshop in London, taught by two Magnum Agency photographers. He was one of 14 chosen from 130 photographers that supplied portfolios.

Without a doubt, newborns are my favorite age to photograph. My best days with my camera, are the days that I get to photograph a fresh newborn. This age can be the most difficult to photograph. Remembering their tiny features, fluffy hair, and all that is new about them, brings back those amazing memories of of my own little angels. These days should be captured and always remembered. The best time to contact me is before you have your baby. I will then add you to my schedule when your due date is expected. Once your baby arrives, then within the first week is the best time to arrange your session. The first week works best to get peaceful sleepy and very curly poses. After two weeks of age, they are more likely to be disturbed while sleeping. It’s not uncommon for the session with a newborn to last 2-4 hours, allowing plenty of time to feed and comfort. Newborn sessions can be done at my home/studio or at your home if your fairly local to me. I have many props to use but feel free to suggest some of your own.
