Pettit earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Minnesota, graduating cum laude in Art Education. After college Bev worked in fine art, technical and art education positions with a stint in teaching photography at a community college in California.

Deciding on photography as her artistic medium of choice came naturally when Bev moved to Hong Kong in 1991. Carrying a 35mm film camera was naturally compatible with her travel style as she backpacked the cities and back roads of Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, India and China. For the next six years she documented Asian culture for personal projects as well as magazines, HK tourism, commercial assignments and educational book publishers worldwide while working full-time as research print manager for a large American investment bank. In 1996 Pettit moved to London where she worked at the European headquarters for the bank for another three years.

She moved back to the US in 1999 to live in Northern Arizona. Today Pettit specializes in photographing horses, both domestic and wild.

I may be a little biased, but if you think about it: once the flowers have wilted, the cake has been eaten, and the music fades, all you have are your memories. I am an artist and will do what it takes to ensure your precious memories are beautifully, and artfully captured. Throughout my life I've found that I always have a camera in my hand. Photography has naturally become such a big part of my life that I decided I wanted to share it with others. Every time I look through the viewfinder it's capturing a moment in time, never to be experienced again... I feel blessed to be a part of every moment others share with me.

My favorite part of photography isn't just making beautiful pictures, it's capturing raw moments of people. For me it's about being a fly on the wall and when someone looks at my pictures I want you to be able to see a bit of that person in them, who they are at that moment...

I am an architectural photographer serving primarily the northern California area. I was an advertising photographer previously with The Sacramento Bee newspaper, and am also comfortable with general editorial, commercial, food, and location photography. I also enjoy assignments in the Palm Springs area as it gives me a chance to visit my parents, and sneak in a few swings at golf balls.

My specialty is residential interiors in a daylight or twilight style, and I also do dusk exteriors and commercial interiors and exteriors. I have also realized that I shoot garden/landscape, although I haven't promoted that much.

I specialize in Fine Art photography. I also do events and function as a back up photographer at events. Even the best photographers can have things go wrong and a back up photographer assures once in a life time events arecapture for all to see.

My back ground includes: Computer Multimedia and Animation Technology (CMAT) facilitator/teacher. CMAT includes photography, videography, compilation, etc. The course was taught in a simulated production house environment and, while a high school course, had many college attributes.

My imaging skills, including photography, were fine tuned while teaching CMAT. Needless to say, visualization and compilation skills are outstanding. While concentrating in fine-art, I'm always open to any imaging challenging - including back up photographer.
