Since 1984, Karen Rubin has been capturing first moments and family milestones for clients who see life as fine art. My favorite quote, “A good photograph is knowing where to stand.” by Ansel Adams means exactly that. I’ve devoted myself to Photography, since I knew what a camera could really do, which is capture precious moments in time. I’ve gained a lot of skills within this fine art field, whether it came from College courses, other people’s techniques or just trial an error. Photography to me means visual expression, which is about seeing something, knowing how you want it to look, and making it so. The first time I learned how to take pictures was actually out of a cardboard oatmeal box back in the early 90's. From that moment on photography has made me interact with my surroundings more, be aware of the subject and context as well as the foreground and background. No matter where I am I see objects/people as a work of art, and something I can't get enough of exposing the beauty they portray. The greatest gift is seeing the love I bring in capturing one's family and being able to keep it for years to come.

I specialize in Colorado nature and landscape photography. I sell artistic prints of my work as fineart. I also have a large collection of travel photography from Paris and around France. My work is perfect for decorating homes, offices, restaurants, hotels, condos, and much more. They make a perfect gift for any occasion.

As a photographer who works with people I achieve success when I capture the inner soul, or that spontaenous interaction that reflects one's life and while my work is portrait photography I feel a photo session should not be rigid because as a client your comfort will allow for me to capture more memorable images as well as make an overall more enjoyable experience for you.

I shoot mostly outdoors to make use of natural light and interesting backdrops, e.g. parks, old & run-down buildings and train tracks. However, if what you want is more intimate surroundings in your own home I'm also set up for such shoots.

While still fairly new to the business I've been involved in photography for about 10 years, shooting everything from people, events, street photography and fine art photography though it's people that I have most enjoyed shooting and have grown into a business.

I offer portraits sessions for maternity, newborn, children, seniors, engagement & couples, I also shoot small events.
