Born an artist, Stan fell in love with photography in High School. David Watersun specializes in producing dramatic Hawaiian photography. Watersun Photography has operated from Maui for twenty years to create advertising, corporate, and editorial photography. Hawaii has become the focus of Watersun's work, where the island lifestyle offers unique opportunities to photograph its diverse people, places, and events. David's location, activity, and cultural photographs of Hawaii’s heritage and environment appear in print and electronic media for client projects.

After receiving academic degrees from Occidental College and Brooks Institute of Photography, David Watersun opened his Seattle studio to produce corporate photography for major clients such as Microsoft, Boeing, and Transamerica. Watersun was commissioned by Canon Photography to photograph the America's Cup yachting competition in Australia, which led to an international odyssey stretching from the Indian Ocean to the Great Barrier Reef. I received my first camera in my late 20’s, and have been hooked ever since!

After majoring in graphic design, I found the transition to capturing composition, detail, color and texture through the lens, a natural one.

Originally from Ohio, I moved to Maui, Hawaii in 1987, where I continued my dive training up through instructor.

I was honored to learn the art of underwater photography with the late, great, Jim Church, and the legendary Stan Waterman during trips to Micronesia, Fiji and throughout Hawaii.

Maui wedding photographer Joe D'Alessandro has been creating dynamic wedding images for 23 years.

Born and raised in New York City, Joe moved to Maui in 1985 and opened his first photography business with his soon to be wife, Co. Together they photographed weddings and events in the finest hotels and venues in the Hawaiian Islands. Joe and Co were the first house photographers for the Four Seasons Resort in Wailea, contracted with clients such as Xerox and shot functions in such diverse places as Scottsdale Arizona and San Diego.

After more than a decade in Maui they moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where they got involved in the art world and photographed some of the finest western art, such as Georgia O'keeffe, Frederick Remington and Charlie Russell for publication and advertisement. Their clients include high profile collectors, museums, galleries and publishing houses. In addition to art, Joe created advertisements for local restaurants and galleries including artistic food shots for a book to be published by one of Santa Fe's premier eating establishments.

From 1984 to 1988, I served in the U.S. Navy, tracking Russian submarines from a P-3 Orion airplane. After the Navy, I worked for several San Diego tech companies as a Business Analyst and Sales Ops Manager, working on my photography part-time.

While in San Diego, I started making photographs of hula dancers along the coast of Southern California. I served as a Board Member for the La Jolla Art Society and had my work displayed in several prestigious locations, including the Merrill Lynch Building and the Kyocera Corporation Gallery. I’ve given speeches at the local Sierra Club and Masonic Lodge. My work has been donated to the Del Mar Clinic and auction fundraisers for the Burn Institute and Multiple Sclerosis.

I decided in early 2005, I would have better opportunities photographing Hula if I moved to Kaua’i. In 2005, I sold everything I could, gave up the technology career and moved to Kaua’i to work as a full-time photographer. It was a tough first year, working as a restaurant manager, selling appliances at Sears and getting some work as a photographer for the only newspaper on the island.
