Rick Friedman has been a photojournalist for over three decades. Based in Boston, he travels the world for numerous publications, corporations, advertising assignments and film and television productions. His published work appears in Time, Newsweek, U.S. News, The New York Times, USA Today, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Stern, Discover and many other publications. He has produced over 75 book and magazine covers. The books Hillary Clinton, Infra Structures, and The Gourmet Prescription are a few of his projects. Rick Friedman is currently the President of the Boston Press Photographers Association. Rick has won awards from the American Society of Media Photographers, the National Press Photographers Association, and the Boston Press Photographers Association.

Rick has been photographing inner city and poverty issues for many years on a pro-bono basis for numerous non profit organizations. His work with Pine Street Inn, New England's largest homeless shelter and outreach program, is a regular on his schedule. Rick has been photographing South End Youth Baseball for over 15 years. SEYB is the largest totally free inner city little league program in the country. Rick is currently working on a book on South End Baseball. Rick's latest show featured South End Baseball and was displayed at Boston City Hall and the Boston Public Library.

Politics is a passion of Ricks'. He has photographed every presidential candidate from Jimmy Carter to Barack Obama. "Rick Friedman on the Campaign Stump" is a recent Photo District News article discussing Rick's interest in covering presidential campaigns.

Rick has photographed several thousand professors and scientists. The culmination of this will be a book of the Great Minds of Boston. His archives contain one of the largest private collections of portraits of professors, scientists and doctors.

Rick teaches location lighting at FotoFusion and other photographic workshops around the country. He has taught college students of Northeastern University, Boston University, Endicott College, NESOP, and The Museum School for over 25 years.
