My back ground includes: Computer Multimedia and Animation Technology (CMAT) facilitator/teacher. CMAT includes photography, videography, compilation, etc. The course was taught in a simulated production house environment and, while a high school course, had many college attributes.

My imaging skills, including photography, were fine tuned while teaching CMAT. Needless to say, visualization and compilation skills are outstanding. While concentrating in fine-art, I'm always open to any imaging challenging - including back up photographer.

ARTIST STATEMENT

As a photographer, I attempt to capture that ‘quality’ that transcends the ‘scenic’ and reveals the mystical. When I have succeeded at that, then my images will achieve my goal: to create passion, uplift, inspire and touch others in ways that perhaps nothing else has before.

I hope to convey a feeling of calmness, a meditative quality that engages the viewer and asks them to join in contemplation and introspection; to leave the world of the mundane and enter a sacred space and relationship with it.

It is almost as if time slows down, pausing in anticipation for that exact moment, waiting breathlessly so that I may take her portrait, and reveal her ‘soul’ in that image. I am the lover, patiently awaiting the beloved – spending much time, in anticipation of ‘the right moment to unfold in front of me’ – to reveal herself, her secrets for me to savor.

It is my desire to capture images that are timeless, painterly, and exhibit a richness and depth. I look for landscapes where there is a natural rhythm, a ‘motion’, a playing of colors that entice and beckon me. I am attracted to water elements in the landscape – to record the ...

His photographic collection includes Imágenes Xicano, a series of documentary photographs from the 70s that provide a unique history of the Chicana/o movement and form a primary core of his photographic production.
